ABOUT KRISTA FRANCIS
Registered Clinical Hypnotherapist | Calgary, AB
Helping Women Find Healing, Peace, and Growth
I’m Krista Francis, an ARCH Canada accredited Registered Clinical Hypnotherapist and Associate Professor Emerita at Werklund School of Education at the University of Calgary. I bring a holistic and evidence-informed approach to healing and transformation, blending deep academic knowledge with compassionate clinical practice.
With decades of experience in human learning, motivation, and wellbeing, I now dedicate myself to helping women who feel overwhelmed or stuck find calm, clarity, and confidence—so they can return to living with joy, purpose, and self-trust.

A Personal Path to Healing
My journey into hypnotherapy began after an emergency life-saving surgery radically changed my world. Recovery was long and emotional. I struggled with my body’s limitations, the scars I carried (inside and out), and the loss of my former physical strength. Even with a loving family and a supportive circle, I felt like I was just surviving—not truly living.
Hypnotherapy helped me reconnect with my body, release emotional pain, and rebuild my sense of self. It changed my life in ways that talk therapy and self-help books hadn’t. Inspired by that transformation, I trained with Robin Popowich, and now support others through their own healing journeys.
My Approach
I work collaboratively with clients to uncover the root of the issue—not just the symptoms. Hypnotherapy allows us to gently access the subconscious mind, reframe unhelpful beliefs, and create meaningful, lasting change. You remain fully aware and in control throughout each session.
Sessions are grounded in science, guided by intuition, and always customized to your unique needs. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, low self-esteem, chronic stress, burn-out, sleep issues, pain, or unwanted habits, I provide a safe and supportive space for transformation.

Bridging Science and Healing
My academic background includes over 20 years in teacher education, curriculum design, and research focused on inclusive, inquiry-based learning in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). That experience informs everything I do—from how I structure sessions to how I support clients in achieving sustainable results.
I continue to explore the intersections of mind, learning, and wellbeing through education, mentorship, and clinical practice. Hypnotherapy is where these worlds beautifully meet.
Why Hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy is a therapeutic technique that uses deep relaxation and focused attention to help you access the subconscious mind—where beliefs, patterns, and emotional responses live. In this receptive state, guided suggestions can support lasting changes in how you think, feel, and behave.
It’s a powerful, evidence-supported tool for addressing:
• Anxiety & stress
• Burn-out
• Chronic pain
• Sleep problems
• Phobias
• Emotional blocks
• Self-sabotage
• Life transitions
• Body image & self-esteem
